Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord

04-14-2019Weekly ReflectionFr. Bing Colasito

Today starts our Holy Week Journey with the celebration of Palm Sunday. This week is like no other week in the Liturgical Calendar of the Church, a week filled with intense emotion and drama, all about the Son of Man who suffered greatly in the hands of men. He died an excruciating death and on the third day rose again to give us all new life. We journey with the greatest love story, Jn. 3:16 "God so loved the world, He gave us His only Son…" Jesus Christ our savior, His most precious one. We are loved so much, we are given the greatest HOPE, and we are invited to level up, to a new level of existence.

I invite everyone this Holy Week to journey with Him, the Son of God, to really get to know, appreciate, and love Him more.

Luke's Gospel of the Passion Narrative presents an account of how Jesus, before Pilate was condemned by the very same people who, a few days earlier were singing, "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in Heaven and glory in the highest." And when His hour came, He no longer said much, He no longer needed to say anything. His whole life, suffering and death, was itself the message, powerful, loud and clear. Let us all journey with Jesus this Holy Week. To get to know Him more… be still, be silent, and really listen – and may we all find quiet moments to journey with Him in prayer.
