Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council is a key advisory body to the Pastor regarding the spiritual life and health of the parish. Council members are asked to pray for the people and ministries of the Parish; promote biblical spirituality within the communities and parish families; help develop a pastoral plan for the growth and development of the parish community and meet monthly.
Council members usually serve a three-year term and the Pastoral Council Chairman serves as the Secretary of the Parish's corporate entity. When there are openings on the Council, nominations are accepted and reviewed by the Pastor and Council members.
Parish Pastoral Council members must be registered in the Parish, Catholics in good standing with the Church, attend Mass regularly, and be available for monthly meetings as well as other projects that the Council may undertake.

David Barworth
Pastoral Council
David and his family have been parishioners of St. Rose since moving from Colorado to Arizona in 2014. He and his wife Desarae have been married for 17 years and have a daughter Katelyn and a son Cameron. David serves as an usher at mass and particularly enjoys spending time with Our Lord in Adoration. He considers the St. Rose community his extended family, and as the newest member of the council, is looking forward to helping Saint Rose be the best it can be.
Martha Bragg
Pastoral Council
Martha and her family have been members of St. Rose and Good Shepherd Mission since 2008. She is a mother of 3 girls, and has been married to her husband, Alex, for 24 years. She is currently a lector at Good Shepherd Mission, volunteers with Walking with Moms in Need, has served on several event committees, is an active member of her Small Christian Community in New River, and has served as a catechist and aide for several years while her girls were in the Religious Education program.
Pat Brutto
Pastoral Council
Pat and his wife of 32 years, have been members of St. Rose since 2006. They with their two teenage daughters volunteer in many ministries. Pat is a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus, serves as a Youth CORE Member for the Middle and High School programs, a member of the parish security team, sings in the choir and attends Tuesday morning Bible study and Small Christian Community meetings.
Cecil Sbandi
Pastoral Council
Cecil was born and raised in Manila, Philippines where she attended Catholic school from kindergarten through college. She and her husband Joe have two daughters and have been St Rose parishioners since 2014 when they moved to Arizona. Cecil serves as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister, and is a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) court at St Rose.
Mickey Grimm
Pastoral Council
Mickey has been a parishioner at St. Rose since 2009. She and her husband, Tom who has since passed , moved to AZ in 2007 from Danville, CA. After being disappointed in finding the right “fit”, they attended Mass at St. Rose one Sunday and immediately fell in love. This is “home”.
Mickey is active in various ministries within the parish. The Welcome Committee, Martha’s Circle, and Women of St. Rose. She also, has been a member of her Small Christian Community since its inception. She is looking forward to the future of our parish
Colleen Schwind
Colleen and her husband of 52 years, Michael, joined St. Rose in 2010 after raising 6 children in the Northern Chicago suburbs. Colleen joined the Fall Festival Committee right away and continued in different roles for 11 years. She has been an active Vincentian with SVDP since 2015 including 3 years as president. She participates in one of the original SCC (Small Christian Community) groups that meets weekly. She helps when needed with the weekly money count, adores weekly and volunteers on Sundays as either a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Usher or Greeter. She hopes her experience in so many varied ministries will be a useful asset as a new member of the Pastoral Council.
