The Sacrament of Matrimony

God gives the gift of love for each other to a man and a woman. These two people become as one, and together return this love to God, in the Sacrament of Matrimony. This Sacrament provides the grace needed for the woman and man to be life-time, loving partners, committed to helping each other reach their full human potential, and generally to continue God's creation through the birth of children. The family is the basic building block of the Catholic Church and of all societies. Matrimony is the Sacrament of family.
